Taiwan to enter the world market for solar power generation

Best Growth Stock – Taiwan is preparing to participate in international tenders to build solar power plants in Eastern Europe, U.S., Middle East and Southeast Asia, said the Ministry of Economy of the island.

The ministry asked the state-owned utility Taipower to cooperate with manufacturers of solar cells for islanders to participate in tenders for construction of solar power plants in regions like the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia and the United States, said the deputy minister Economics, Hwang Jung-chiou.

To date, solar cell makers Motech Industries Inc., Gintech Energy Corp and Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. have shown interest in collaborating with Taipower.

The manufacturing sector of solar cells suffer from low profit margins due to the low price strategy adopted by Chinese manufacturers and bids may pose an outlet for island businesses, said Deputy Economy Minister.

“Expanding the international market can be a solution for excess production of solar cells,” said Hwang.

The solar cell manufacturers contribute 40 percent of the cost of a solar power plant, said the deputy minister.

The cooperation of the Taiwanese manufacturers of generators foreign companies, by Taipower, you can create projects in the competitive international bidding, said Hwang.
