A400M talks made progress but not conclusive -source

PARIS, Feb 4 (BestGrowthStock) – Talks held on Friday to resolve a
dispute over funding for the A400M European military transport
plane made some progress but were not conclusive, a source close
to the discussions said.

The talks between Airbus parent EADS (EAD.PA: ) and seven NATO
nations were held in Berlin.

“There has been some progress but the discussions were not
conclusive,” the source said, asking not to be named.

EADS declined comment.

It was not immediately clear whether purchasing nations had
agreed to increase an offer of 2 billion euros in extra funding
but sources close to the negotiations have said alternative
methods of financing such as credits were being floated.

Buyers last week rejected an EADS request for 4.4 billion.

French and German leaders called earlier for an urgent
solution to the row over cost overruns, while Germany’s defence
minister said countries should not be unduly pressured.
