Accused thief makes bloody mess in attempted heist

PITTSBURGH (BestGrowthStock) – An alleged thief in western Pennsylvania botched it when he wounded himself in the process of the crime, authorities said.

Michael Barton cut himself and began bleeding while trying to steal two packages of Gillette razors at a Wal-Mart in Cranberry, Pennsylvania, state police said on Monday.

Barton was trying to take the razor cartridges out of the packaging and hide them on himself in Friday’s incident, State Police Cpl. Mitch York said.

He was apprehended by security guards at the store, about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh, and arrested by state police.

Barton, 29, of Oil City, Pennsylvania, was found to be on probation for a separate offense and was being held at the Venango County Jail.
