ANCHORAGE (BestGrowthStock) – An Air Force F-22 fighter jet is missing in Alaska after losing contact with air traffic control during a training mission, an Elmendorf Air Force Base spokesman said on Wednesday.
The fighter, a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, has been missing since losing contact with air traffic control at 7:40 p.m. local time on Tuesday while on a routine training mission over Alaska, the spokesman said.
The jet is a single-seat, twin-engine fighter equipped with stealth technology.
A search is underway, the military said.
