Al Jazeera says Gaddafi forces bombard oil field

CAIRO (Reuters) – Al Jazeera television, citing unnamed witnesses, reported on Monday that forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi had bombarded Misla oil field in eastern Libya. The report, appearing as a brief screen headline, did not give further details.

Misla, operated by the eastern-based Arabian Gulf Oil Company (Agoco) which is under the control of rebels, lies in the desert about 400 km (250 miles) south of the rebel-held town of Ajdabiyah.
