Asian states know stronger currencies needed-IMF

WASHINGTON, April 24 (BestGrowthStock) – China and its neighbors
recognize that currency appreciation is a key element of
policies Asian countries need to implement to boost domestic
consumption, the International Monetary Fund director for Asia
said on Saturday.

“There is widespread recognition … that strengthening the
currency is part of the policy mix and part of the range of
policies needed to raise the labor share of income, raise
private consumption, and help introduce a new engine for growth
over the medium term,” IMF Asia Director Anoop Singh told a
news conference.
