Australia opposition hints Labor may be re-elected

SYDNEY (BestGrowthStock) – Australia’s opposition treasury spokesman said the ruling Labor party “may well steal election” victory on Saturday as counting continued in a cliffhanger poll.

With 50 percent of the vote counted, Prime Minister Julia Gillard’s Labor had won 60 of a required 76 seats to form government. The conservative opposition was trailing with 49.

“They rolled out union money, they rolled out union workers, they did not have the community with them and yet they may well steal the election tonight,” Joe Hockey said after winning his Sydney seat.
