Berlusconi-govt will quit if loses budget votes

ROME, July 8 (BestGrowthStock) – Italian Prime Minister Silvio
Berlusconi said on Thursday his government would resign, as
required by the constitution, if it lost confidence votes in
parliament over an unpopular 25-billion euro austerity budget.

“The decision to call the confidence vote on the budget has
been an act of courage. If don’t win, we go home,” he said in a
TV interview.

Berlusconi added that economic recovery in Italy was
underway and that industrial production in June was rising
again.
