BlackRock CEO "never" looked at Man Group: report

PARIS (BestGrowthStock) – U.S. fund firm BlackRock (BLK.N: ) has “never” looked at buying Man Group (EMG.L: ), the world’s largest listed hedge fund firm, though it likes the company, BlackRock’s chief executive told French daily Les Echos.

Market rumors surrounding a BlackRock bid bolstered Man Group shares earlier this year. BlackRock owns 11.4 percent of Man Group, according to Reuters data.

“We have never, ever looked at Man Group, even though we like the company … We are its shareholders,” Laurence D. Finck said in an interview published Tuesday.

When asked what investment advice BlackRock was giving clients, Finck said he saw significant opportunities in the stock market at a time when bonds were “too expensive.”

“Stocks are the most poorly valued asset class,” Finck said.
