Brazil Jan. car output jumps from year earlier

SAO PAULO, Feb 4 (BestGrowthStock) – Automobile output in Brazil
jumped 31.6 percent in January from a year earlier, the
national automakers’ association Anfavea said on Thursday.

Carmakers produced about 234,400 units last month, on sales
of about 213,300 units, the association said. January output
fell 3.7 percent from December 2009, it said.

Brazil, Latin America’s largest economy, is a major market
for Italy’s Fiat (FIA.MI: ), Germany’s Volkswagen AG (VOWG.DE: ),
and U.S.-based General Motors [GM.UL] and Ford Motor Co (F.N: ).
