Brazil raises 2010 growth forecast to 6.5 percent

BRASILIA, July 20 (BestGrowthStock) – Brazil’s government on
Tuesday raised its forecast for economic growth this year to
6.5 percent from 5.5 percent previously, in a periodic revision
of its 2010 budget data.

It also revised down its inflation estimate, predicting the
IPCA Consumer Price Index would end the year up 5.2 percent,
against a previously projected increase of 5.5 percent.

The government has a target of 4.5 percent, plus or minus 2
percentage points.
