Brazil’s Rousseff favors lower inflation target

NEW YORK, May 21 (BestGrowthStock) – Brazilian presidential
candidate Dilma Rousseff said on Friday she favors a careful
reduction in the country’s inflation target during the next few
years.

“That reduction has to be gradual,” the former chief of
staff of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told investors in
New York, in her first trip abroad as candidate in the October
elections.

Brazil’s central bank currently targets inflation of 4.5
percent, with a margin of tolerance of 2 percentage points.
