BARCLAYS WEALTH

The unit of Barclays PLC (BARC.L: ) said it hired William
Scott, Steve Pritsios and Donald Mahoney as investment
representatives in Washington and Philadelphia. Scott and
Pritsios, based in Washington, previously worked at Oppenheimer
& Co. Mahoney, based in Philadelphia, previously worked at
Radnor Trust Co.

TICONDEROGA SECURITIES

The start-up broker/dealer has hired equity research
analyst Douglas Sipkin, who previously worked at Pali Capital.
Sipkin covers brokers and asset managers.

MACQUARIE CAPITAL (USA)

The unit of Macquarie Group Ltd (MQG.AX: ) said it hired
Christopher Hogg as managing director in its capital markets
business. Hogg was formerly co-head of FIG capital markets at
Bank of America’s (BAC.N: ) Banc of America Securities.

ROPES & GRAY

The law firm said it had hired Douglas Hallward-Driemeier
as a partner in its Washington office. Hallward-Driemeier,
formerly an assistant to the Solicitor General of the United
States, will lead the firm’s appellate and Supreme Court
practice.

DECHERT LLP

The law firm said it hired Allan Brilliant and Craig Druehl
as members of the business restructuring and reorganization
group in New York. Both were previously partners at Goodwin
Procter LLP.

WELD NORTH LLC

The investment company said it hired Stephen Berger as Vice
Chairman and Chief Financial Officer. Berger is a founding
partner of Richmond Park Partners LLP, a London-based merchant
banking firm. Weld North is newly formed, and was founded by
former Kaplan CEO Jonathan Grayer in partnership with buyout
firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. [KKR.UL]

ENVESTNET

The provider of services to wealth managers said it hired
Karen Lanzetta, previously director of the office of the
president at Merrill Lynch, as its director of market research.

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND (RBS.L: )

The bank named Simon Penney to head up its wholesale and
investment bank in the Middle East and Africa to strengthen its
debt capital markets and structured finance business. Penney
recently also took on the role of country executive for the
United Arab Emirates, where he will be based.

NOMURA (8604.T: )

The global investment bank appointed Nikolai Ahrens as
country co-head of Nomura Bank (Deutschland) GmbH alongside
Koichi Katakawa. Ahrens also takes responsibility as head of
investment banking Germany and Austria as of Feb 1, 2010.

VAM FUNDS

The specialist investment boutique appointed Andrew Janes
and Dean Currie as business development managers. Primarily
based in the UK, they will work under Nigel Watson, global
sales director, to support VAM’s UK expansion plans.

PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS

PwC has appointed Martine Trouard-Riolle to its pension
credit advisory team. Martine, who joins from Penfida, joins as
a director and will advise a range of clients on the Pensions
Regulator’s powers as well as employer covenant.

MERCHANT SECURITIES

The financial services group said John East will step down
as head of corporate finance on March 31.

STANDARD CHARTERED BANK (HONG KONG) LTD

The bank said Michael Thomas Pratt will succeed Stefano
Paolo Bertamini as a board director with effect from Feb. 1.

LINCOLN INTERNATIONAL

The boutique midmarket investment bank said Alka Bali, the
former managing director of Close Brothers Leisure and Retail
team, is joining its London office to head the UK Consumer
sector team.

MAYER BROWN

The law firm said it hired Neil Caddy as a finance partner
to its London office. Caddy joins from Allen & Overy where he
focused on leveraged finance.

IGNIS ASSET MANAGEMENT

The asset management company appointed Billie Croan as the
director of liquidity sales. Billie will report to Bruce
Campbell, head of liquidity sales, and will join Ignis on Feb
1. Ignis also said it hired Johan Rydqvist to join the sales
team covering the Nordic region. Rydqvist previously worked at
Bank Sarasin Asset Management, and will report directly to
Philip Goldsmith, Managing Director Europe.
