Czech SocDem leader sees right-wing coalition

PRAGUE, May 29 (BestGrowthStock) – Czech Social Democrat leader Jiri
Paroubek said his leftist party’s showing in Saturday’s general
election was “certainly not a success” and it was clear the
country was headed for a right-wing coalition.
The Social Democrats won the most votes in the two-day poll
and Paroubek may still have the traditional first right of
refusal at trying to form a government. But centre-right parties
won a clear majority.

“It seems that people have chosen the direction the republic
should go in, and it is a different direction than the one the
Social Democrats were offering,” Paroubek said after partial
results.

When asked if he could still become prime minister under a
new government, Paroubek said: “We will see what comes next”.
