East cooler, rains miss parched western Plains

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Temperatures will be cooler than average on Friday in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states where it rains, forecasters said.

Thunderstorms are set to move through the Plains in the northern and eastern regions, but not in the extremely dry areas of the west and southwest.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected this weekend and early next week in the Midwest, with more storms possible later next week as well.
