EU regulatory body to discuss Goldman case -source

LONDON, April 20 (BestGrowthStock) — The European Union’s 27
national securities watchdogs will collectively discuss the U.S.
fraud lawsuit filed against Wall Street bank Goldman Sachs
(GS.N: ), a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.

“The Committee of European Securities Regulators has put
this on its CESR-Pol agenda,” the source said without
elaborating.

CESR-Pol handles coordination of surveillance and
enforcement activities between its members which include the
Financial Services Authority in Britain, AMF in France and BaFin
in Germany.

It is also responsible for dialogue with non-European
securities regulators like the U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission (SEC) which filed the case against Goldman last
Friday.

The FSA said on Tuesday is has launched a formal probe
related to the civil fraud allegations against Goldman. Goldman
has denied the accusations. BaFin said it has intensified talks
