Eurocopter says expects approval for NH90 by Jan

BERLIN, Dec 3 (BestGrowthStock) – Eurocopter chief executive Lutz
Bertling has said he expects final approval from NATO’s
procurement agency Nahema for the NH90 transport helicopter
built by the EADS (EAD.PA: ) unit.

Bertling told journalists late on Thursday he expects
approval to come perhaps before Christmas but by January 2011 at
the latest. It could then be used by the Bundeswehr in 2011 or
by 2012 at the latest, he said.

The German military has ordered 122 units of the NH90,
although the project has already been delayed by over four
years. The NH90 is set to replace Germany’s ageing Vietnam-era
Bell helicopters.
