Euronext Amsterdam appoints new chief executive

AMSTERDAM, March 31 (BestGrowthStock) – Transatlantic exchange NYSE
Euronext (NYX.PA: )(NYX.N: ) appointed its head of European cash
markets Cees Vermaas as chief executive of Euronext Amsterdam,
it said on Wednesday.

Vermaas will take over from Joost van der Does de Willebois,
who will step down as of June 1 and said in a statement he will
think about “the next phase of my career”.

Vermaas, 45, made a career as an IT manager after an
education in technical business management and has worked at
Euronext since Dec. 2001.

Between 2003 and 2009 Vermaas was responsible for sales and
relationship management processes for clients active on the
European cash trading segments of NYSE Euronext.

NYSE Euronext operates the Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and
Lisbon bourses, the Liffe derivatives exchange in Europe and the
New York Stock Exchange and electronic exchange NYSE Arca in the
United States.

Euronext and NYSE Group merged in April 2007 to create the
first transatlantic bourse.
