Europe shares extend losses after jobless claims

LONDON, July 1 (BestGrowthStock) – European shares extended losses
on Thursday after a report showed the number of U.S. jobless
claims unexpectedly rose last week, heightening fears the U.S.
labor market recovery was stalling.

By 1235 GMT, the pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 (.FTEU3: )
index of top shares was down 1.4 percent at 979.28 points, with
banks featuring among the major fallers.
