European shares extend losses after U.S. data

LONDON, Aug 19 (BestGrowthStock) – European shares extended losses
on Thursday after the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia said
its index of business conditions in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region
fell in August to -7.7 from 5.1 in July.

At 1407 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 (.FTEU3: ) index of top
European shares was down 1.1 percent at 1,040.96 points after
rising to a high of 1,060.13 points earlier in the session.
