European shares turn negative; financials slip

LONDON, Aug 16 (BestGrowthStock) – European shares turned negative
in morning trade on Monday as financials gave up early gains,
with concerns about global economic growth weighing on market
sentiment.

At 0804 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 (.FTEU3: ) index of top
European shares was down 0.1 percent at 1,044.64 points after
rising to a high of 1,051.24 earlier in the session.

Among banks, BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA: ), Societe Generale
(SOGN.PA: ) and Credit Agricole (CAGR.PA: ) were down 0.7 to 1.1
percent.
