European shares turn positive as miners gain

LONDON (BestGrowthStock) – European shares turned positive in morning trade on Monday as energy shares cut early losses and miners advanced, tracking stronger metals prices.

At 4:58 a.m. ET, the FTSEurofirst 300 (.FTEU3: ) index of top European shares was up 0.1 percent at 1,013.50 points after falling to a low of 1,005.57 points earlier in the session.

Miners got strength from higher metals prices. BHP Billiton (BLT.L: ), Anglo American (AAL.L: ), Antofagasta (ANTO.L: ), Rio Tinto (RIO.L: ), Xstrata (XTA.L: ) and Eurasian Natural Resources (ENRC.L: ) rose 0.7 to 2 percent.
