Fire at Venezuela oil upgrader, output normal

CARACAS, Feb 1 (BestGrowthStock) – A fire on Monday caused a brief
interruption in the functioning of Venezuela’s 200,000 barrel
per day Petro Cedeno oil upgrader in the Orinoco heavy crude
region, an official said, adding that output was not affected.

“There was a leak which produced a fire,” Petro Cedeno
president Luis Marquez told state television station VTV.

He said the fire was under control and that the rest of the
complex was working normally with no impact on production.

Petro Cedeno is a joint venture between Venezuela’s state
oil company PDVSA, France’s Total (TOTF.PA: ) and Norway’s
Statoil (STL.OL: )>.
