FOREX-Euro/dollar falls to session low as Trichet speaks

NEW YORK, Feb 4 (BestGrowthStock) – The euro/dollar fell to a
session low after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude
Trichet said on Thursday that many euro area countries will
have large, sharply rising fiscal imbalances.

Speaking at a press conference after the ECB left its
benchmark lending rate unchanged, Trichet said high public debt
and deficit would place additional burdens on monetary policy.

The euro/dollar fell to a session low of $1.3824, according
to Reuters data, and was last at $1.3834, down 0.5 percent from
the prior New York close.
