The company said a mid-stage study of its drug to treat

AAR CORP (AIR.N: ), $18.25, down 17 pct

The aviation and defense supplier’s shares fell after it
provided outlook for fourth quarter results.

AIXTRON AG (AIXGn.DE: ) (AIXG.O: ), $24.25, down 12 pct

Shares of the company fell after JP Morgan cut its rating
to on the stock to “neutral” from “overweight.”

ARIAD PHARMACEUTICALS INC (ARIA.O: ), $3.60, down 8 pct

The company shares were down after its comments on the
recommendation of data monitoring committee of Phase 3 trial of

UIL HOLDINGS CORP (UIL.N: ), $26.70, down 5 pct

The company agreed to buy three gas utilities from the U.S.
unit of Spain’s Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC: ) for $1.296 billion in
cash, in a deal that would more than double its customer base.

AUTOZONE INC (AZO.N: ), $191.6, up 4 pct

The largest U.S. auto-parts retail chain, reported a much
higher-than-expected quarterly profit on Tuesday, helped by
higher demand for replacement parts and new store openings.

The technology distributor said it launched a tender offer

The company shares were down after its unit SunEdison said
it had formed a joint venture with private equity firm First

American Superconductor, which makes electrical systems for
wind farms and turbines, said it would design and jointly
develop a range of advanced, multi-megawatt-scale wind turbines

WILLIAMS COS INC (WMB.N: ), $18.65, down 2 pct

The company said it has bought about 42,000 net acres from
Alta Resources LLC and its partners for $501 million in a deal
that would nearly double its exploration and production assets

SARA LEE CORP (SLE.N: ), $14.08, down 2 pct

The company said it will amend the timing of its 2010 share
repurchases by using proceeds from each of its pending
