Hungary govt ready to contain 2010 budget gap-PM

BUDAPEST, Sept 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Hungary’s government will be
ready to take more measures to contain the 2010 budget deficit
if September data indicate a possible overshoot in the 3.8
percent of GDP deficit target, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said
on Tuesday.

September budget data will be released next week.

Orban also told public television MTV that there would not
be austerity measures as the government wants to boost
competitiveness and previous Socialist governments’ policies
that were based on austerity had failed.

Orban also said he saw no reason to make any changes in his
government.
