Hurricane Earl "close approach" is a concern-U.S.

MIAMI, Aug 31 (BestGrowthStock) – U.S. authorities are concerned
about a possible “close approach” of Hurricane Earl to Cape
Hatteras on the North Carolina coast on Thursday, National
Hurricane Center (NHC) Director Bill Read said on Tuesday.

“There is still some concern for a close approach to Cape
Hatteras on Thursday and Thursday night,” Read told a
conference call for journalists.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Administrator
Craig Fugate said there was no direct landfall forecast for
Earl on the U.S. coast so far.
