IMF to report on new Argentine CPI in April visit

WASHINGTON, March 24 (Reuters) – An IMF staff mission will
visit Argentina from April 4 to 11 to make specific
recommendations to the authorities on a new national Consumer
Price Index (CPI), a senior IMF official said on Thursday.

“(IMF) staff plans to leave a report with the authorities
that will include specific recommendations concerning the
design and methodology for developing a new national CPI,” said
Nicolas Eyzaguirre, IMF director for the Western Hemisphere
said in a statement.
