Ivory Coast H1 oil output down 24 pct yr/yr -govt

ABIDJAN, Sept 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Ivory Coast produced 39,000
barrels of crude oil per day in the half year to end June 2010,
24 percent less than the same period of last year, a government
document obtained by Reuters on Tuesday showed.

The West African nation usually pumps about 50,000 bpd, but
the joint paper by the finance and energy ministries said a
fall had occurred owning to technical problems. A total of 7.14
million barrels was pumped out over that period.

“A stoppage of production in the CI26 field was carried out
to allow for works aiming to improve fluid treatment capacity,”
the document noted.

All of Ivory Coast’s producing fields are operated by
Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ.TO: ) (CNQ.N: ).
