Japan Feb housing starts -9.3 pct yr/yr -govt

TOKYO, March 31 (BestGrowthStock) – Housing starts in Japan fell 9.3
percent in February from a year earlier, government data showed
on Wednesday, much more than the median estimate for a 0.8
percent annual decline. [JPHST=ECI].

It was the 15th straight month of declines in housing starts
and faster than an 8.1 percent annual decline in the previous
month as consumers remained cautious about spending due to
deteriorating income conditions.

Orders received by 50 major construction companies in
February dropped 20.3 percent from a year earlier. [JPCORD=ECI]
