Japan May wholesale prices rise 0.4 pct yr/yr

TOKYO, June 10 (BestGrowthStock) – Japanese wholesale prices rose 0.4
percent in the year to May, Bank of Japan data showed on
Thursday, bigger than the median forecast of a 0.2 percent rise.

The corporate goods price index (CGPI) marked the first
annual rise in 17 months due to higher energy prices.

Overall final goods prices — the prices of finished products
charged to businesses — fell 1.3 percent in May from a year
earlier.

Domestic final goods prices, which loosely track the consumer
price index, decreased by an annual 1.0 percent in May.

economists’ median forecast in parentheses; previous figures may
be revised):
