Japan Nov housing starts +6.8 pct yr/yr -govt

TOKYO, Dec 27 (BestGrowthStock) – Housing starts in Japan rose 6.8
percent in November from a year earlier, data by the land
ministry showed on Monday, underpinned by government stimulus
steps and tax breaks for energy-efficient homes. [JPHST=ECI]

The rise was above a median market forecast for a 4.9 percent
gain and followed a 6.4 percent increase the previous month.

It was the sixth straight month of annual rises.

Orders received by 50 major construction companies in
November fell 5.3 percent from a year earlier. [JPCORD=ECI]
