TOKYO, Oct 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Japanese retail sales rose 1.2
percent in September from a year earlier, much less than a median
market forecast for a 3.0 percent annual increase, government
data showed on Thursday.

The pace of increase slowed from a 4.3 percent climb in
August partly due to the termination of government subsidies for
purchases of fuel-efficient cars.

Details were as follows (previous figures may be revised;
economists’ median forecast in parentheses):
——————————————————-

Retail sales SEPT AUG JULY
——————————————————-

year/year +1.2 (+3.0) +4.3 +3.8

month/month -3.0 +1.4 +0.7
