Keystone files to start Canada-US pipeline in May

NEW YORK, April 20 (BestGrowthStock) – Transcanada (TRP.TO: ) has filed with the U.S.
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to begin operating the new, 435,000
barrel-per-day Keystone oil pipeline to ship crude from Canada into the United
States as early as May 15, according to a filing document from mid-April.

The pipeline has filed to begin making oil transport tariffs effective on
the line from May 15, according to the filing and a company source contacted by
Reuters on Tuesday.

The line, which will carry crude to the U.S. Midwest from Alberta, Canada,
is not expected to actually begin pumping crude commercially until June, the
source told Reuters. The line will ramp up to full capacity by the first
quarter of 2011, the filing said.
