Libyan town of Zintan hit by shell-fire: resident

ALGIERS (Reuters) – Forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi shelled the city of Zintan, about 160 km (100 miles) south-west of the capital, early on Sunday, a resident told Reuters.

“Gaddafi’s brigades bombarded Zintan with tanks in the early hours on Sunday. There has been random bombardment of the northern area (of Zintan). They are still besieging the town,” the resident, called Abdulrahman, told Reuters.
