MANULIFE ASSET MANAGEMENT

The global asset management arm of Manulife Financial Corp
appointed Chad Gross to its institutional sales team.
Gross joins from Janus Capital Group .

JEFFERIES GROUP INC

The investment banker hired six managing directors in Asia.
Paul Krake was named as head of hedge fund sales, Lydia Leung
for Hong Kong/China equity sales, Stephen Nichols as head of
Asia trading, Adam Putterill as head of Hong Kong and China
sales trading, James Young as head of regional sales, and David
Welch as a regional sales trader. All are based in Jefferies’
Hong Kong office.

HSBC

Europe’s biggest bank appointed Fiona Sheerin as associate
director to the African team within its private banking
division, effective Monday. She joins from Barclays Wealth where
she was assistant vice-president, private banker focusing on the
African market.

3I GROUP

The private equity firm appointed Marcelo Di Lorenzo to head
its newly established office and team in Brazil. Lorenzo was
previously with Standard Bank Private Equity.

BARING ASSET MANAGEMENT

The investment management firm appointed Thomas Kwan as head
of Asian Debt. He has over 11 years of investment management
experience and joins from ICBC Credit Suisse in Beijing.

BLUEFIN CORPORATE CONSULTING

The advisory services firm appointed Nigel Evans as a
new business consultant in the new business development team.
Evans was previously a client account manager with Mercers.

OLD MUTUAL ASSET MANAGERS

The firm appointed Jenny Segal as head of Institutional
Business. Segal joins from AllianceBernstein.

CB RICHARD ELLIS

The real estate investment manager has appointed Alex
Greaves as senior sales negotiator in the central London
residential team. Greaves joins from Harrods Estates.

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND

The UK bank appointed of Tim Skeet as a managing director in
the Financial Institutions Group within debt capital markets.
Skeet joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch .
