NATO airstrike hits south Misrata: Libyan official

MISRATA, Libya (Reuters) – A NATO air strike has hit the southern outskirts of Misrata, a Libyan official in the city said on Saturday, but it was unclear what the target was.

“This smoke is from a NATO air strike which hit today,” the official said, pointing to a plume of black smoke rising from the south of the city.

A Reuters witness said she saw a warplane sweeping across the sky.
