Nikkei dips towards fresh 7-week low; yen weighs

TOKYO (BestGrowthStock) – Japan’s Nikkei average inched down 0.2 percent on Tuesday to move toward a fresh seven-week low, pressured by the yen’s strength near a record high against the dollar and before a U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting.

The benchmark Nikkei (.N225: ) fell 14.44 points to 9,140.28. It slipped 0.5 percent on Monday to its lowest close since September 9.

The broader Topix (.TOPX: ) fell 0.1 percent to 802.36.
