Nikkei falls 2 percent on consumer weakness

TOKYO (BestGrowthStock) -Japan’s Nikkei average fell 2 percent on Friday, breaking below a key support level, as fresh signs of weakness in U.S. consumer spending raised concern about the outlook for corporate earnings.

The benchmark Nikkei (.N225: ) lost 205.42 points to 9,722.92, while the broader Topix (.TOPX: ) shed 1.5 percent to 866.41.
