Nikkei rises 0.4 pct as Intel boosts tech stocks

TOKYO, April 14 (BestGrowthStock) – Japan’s Nikkei average rose 0.4
percent on Wednesday, inching away from two-week lows hit the day
before, with chip-linked exporters boosted after Intel’s (INTC.O: )
sales and margin forecasts trounced market expectations.

But gains were capped by investor wariness ahead of U.S. and
Japanese earnings as well as Chinese indicators on Thursday, with
telecoms firm KDDI Corp (9433.T: ) weighing on the overall market
after a brokerage cut its rating.

The benchmark Nikkei (.N225: ) rose 43.67 points to 11,204.90,
while the broader Topix (.TOPX: ) gained 0.3 percent to 991.10.
