Northeast still chilled, west Plains still dry

NEW YORK (BestGrowthStock) – Temperatures remained below normal in the Northeast on Thursday with the day’s highs forecast to range from the 20s to the 30s Fahrenheit.

More dry weather is seen for the southern Plains through the weekend. This is starting to affect soil moisture in eastern areas. The hard red winter wheat crop in the western half of the region already stressed by the dryness.

Mostly dry weather is also forecast for Midwest, but soft red winter wheat crop there is in better shape thanks to recent rain and snowfall.
