Ohio asks courts to review GMAC foreclosures

NEW YORK, Sept 28 (BestGrowthStock) – Ohio Attorney General Richard
Cordray on Tuesday said he asked state courts for a “special
review” of all GMAC Mortgage foreclosure cases after what
Cordray called the use of questionable affidavits.

Ohio is the latest state to review procedures by the Ally
Financial unit, which has encountered a firestorm of criticism
in the past week as faulty practices came to light. The errors
have raised concerns of an industrywide problem, given the
volume of foreclosures in the United States.

“It is critical that all involved in the foreclosure
process recognize the dire circumstances of these Ohioans and
protect the integrity of the system through careful vigilance,”
Cordray said in a statement.
