Omnifone appoints new CEO for U.S. expansion

LONDON, April 16 (BestGrowthStock) – British digital music firm
Omnifone has appointed a new Chief Executive to lead its
expansion into a further 10 countries including the United
States, it said on Friday.

Omnifone said Jeff Hughes, a former chief information
officer and executive vice president of pay-TV group BSkyB
(BSY.L: ), would become chief executive as part of a wider
reshuffle of the company’s executive team.

Rob Lewis, Omnifone’s founder and chief executive for the
past six years, will become executive chairman.

Omnifone provides unlimited music services through its
MusicStation offering for a range of partners including consumer
electronics vendors, Internet service providers and mobile phone
companies.

Its cloud-based service is already present through partners
in 20 countries and it expects to be in a further 10 markets
including the U.S. by the end of this year.

A spokesman said the group was in talks with partners in
those markets, including ISPs, mobile firms and consumer
electronic firms.

Mobile operators, ISPs and handset makers have all started
to offer music services in a bid to increase customer loyalty
and grow revenues.
