Peru consumer prices fall 0.14 pct in October

LIMA, Nov 1 (BestGrowthStock) – Consumer prices in Peru fell 0.14
percent in October, the second month in a row that prices have
dropped in the South American country, official data showed on
Monday.

Consumer prices in Peru fell 0.03 percent in September.

The accumulated inflation rate for the first 10 months of
this year was 1.89 percent (PECPI=ECI: ), the country’s
statistics institute INEI said.

The central bank has an annual inflation target of between
1.0 percent and 3.0 percent.

The central bank has raised its benchmark interest rate
several times this year to 3.0 percent in a bid to keep prices
stable in one of Latin America’s fastest-growing economies.
