PM sees Portugal out of "danger zone" in one year

LISBON, Nov 2 (BestGrowthStock) – Portugal’s government hopes its
austere 2011 budget will allow the country to drive out of a
“danger zone”, associated with high debt risk by markets, Prime
Minister Jose Socrates said on Tuesday.

Speaking to parliament as he presented the budget bill,
Socrates said current market fears about Portugal’s “are
unfounded”.

The first vote on the general guidelines of the budget is on
Wednesday and the bill is set to clear the first hurdle after
the main opposition Social Democrats agreed with the government
they would abstain in the vote.
