REFILE-Research in Motion says won UK patent ruling

(Refiles to fix typo in first paragraph)

TORONTO, Feb 3 (BestGrowthStock) – A British judge has ruled in
favor of BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM.TO: ) (RIMM.O: )
in a patent dispute with rival Motorola Inc (MOT.N: ), the
Canadian company said in an e-mail.

The ruling comes as Motorola, which has been losing market
share to RIM for years, pursues similar complaints in U.S.
courts, claiming RIM has infringed on five Motorola technology
patents.

“Motorola has been trying to compensate for its losses in
the marketplace and its inability to sell its mobile division
by resorting to court actions that are designed to help
negotiate unreasonable royalty rates,” RIM said in a
statement.

No further details on the ruling were released.

Motorola said it was reviewing the judgment
