Rep Pence: Fed mandate view same after Hoenig meet

WASHINGTON, Dec 2 (BestGrowthStock) – Representative Mike Pence
told reporters on Thursday his view on stripping the Federal
Reserve of its mandate to ensure full employment remains
unchanged after a meeting with a top Fed official.

Pence, the number three Republican in the House of
Representatives, said his belief the Fed should focus solely on
fighting inflation was intact after Kansas City Federal Reserve
Bank President Thomas Hoenig met with GOP lawmakers.

“We had a turnout of some of our most active members on
financial services issues and we hope it’s the beginning of an
ongoing debate about monetary policy. We also talked a bit
about the subject of dual mandate,” Pence said.
