AVERAGE WAGE AND ENERGY RESOURCES DATA

The National Statistics Board will release average wage and
energy resource data for October at 0800 GMT.

ROMANIA GOVT APPROVES AUSTERITY 2011 BUDGET

Romania’s coalition government approved a cost-cutting 2011
budget on Monday, a spokeswoman said, a move that should allow
Bucharest to keep its International Monetary Fund-led bailout on

FISCAL WATCHDOG

Romania’s fiscal watchdog, a body set up under an
IMF-mandated fiscal responsibility law, said on Monday that the
government’s budget plan was at risk as its spending and revenue
estimates were based on draft laws that have yet to be approved
for IMF-backed public sector wage and pension reform.

The watchdog also said the government failed to be
transparent about investment targets and deadlines.

MATERNITY LEAVE AND HEALTH INSSURANCE TAX

The government has also decided to halve the time it pays
mothers who stay at home with their newborns to one year as of
2011. Pay during maternity leave will range between 600 and
3,400 lei, depending on the mother’s salary.

The cabinet has also expanded the taxation base for the
health budget, deciding to collect health insurance taxes from
retirees whose pensions are higher than 740 lei ($227.8).

ROMANIA SELLS PLANNED 6-MO TBILLS, YIELD DIPS

Romania sold a planned amount of six-month treasury bills on
Monday at a lower yield from the previous tender, but analysts
said it would probably still struggle to meet its fund-raising

ROMANIA TO START WORK ON ROADS WORTH 2.5 BLN EUROS

Romania will launch works on 289 kilometres of motorway next
year, at an overall cost of 2.5 billion euros ($3.36 billion),

ENEL GP STARTS UP 34 MW WIND FARM IN ROMANIA

Italy’s biggest renewable energy company, Enel Green Power
(EGP) (EGPW.MI: ), has started a 34 megawatt wind farm in Romania,
aiming to expand the country’s rapidly growing green energy

CAR SALES

Car sales in Romania were up about 10 percent on the year in
November, to 10,700 units, market data showed.
