ROMANIA MISSED SOME IMF TARGETS, AID NOT AT RISK-FINMIN

Romania has missed some targets agreed with the IMF earlier
this year in exchange for aid and talks with the Fund were
“complicated”, but the aid package was not at risk, Finance
Minister Sebastian Vladescu said on Sunday.

The Romanian unit of Swedish furniture retailer IKEA
[IKEA.UL] recorded a profit of 24 million lei ($7.71 million)
last year, up from the 14 million lei in 2008.

NO CONFIDENCE MOTION

The senate will debate on Monday the simple no confidence
motion filed by the opposition Social Democrats against the
defence ministry. The leftists oppose an IMF-mandated pension
reform, which includes pension cuts for retired army officers.

A group of independent MPs, mostly formed of defectors from
opposition parties who currently back the centrist coalition
government, formed their own party on Saturday, called the
National Union for Romania’s Progress (UNPR).

WIND ENERGY

Energy firms Enol Grup and Midmar Callatis are seeking
financing of up to 1.5 billion euros to invest in two wind parks
near the Black Sea port of Constanta with a capacity of 800 MW.
