Shelby: U.S. financial reform deal unlikely today

WASHINGTON, April 26 (BestGrowthStock) – Senator Richard Shelby,
the top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, said that
lawmakers will continue to discuss a financial reform bill but
a deal was unlikely on Monday.

“I don’t believe we’ll have a deal today,” he said on ABC’s
“Good Morning America” program. Shelby said he will meet with
Banking Committee Chairman Senator Christopher Dodd, a
Democrat, at 2 p.m (1800 GMT). “I believe we’re going to get a
good bill, but that’s what we want, we want a strong bill.”
